Playa del Carmen Real Estate: New Concept for John Gray Restaurant Group
Last update 16 June, 2011
“I’m looking forward to mixing things up a bit,” said executive chef Gray “I want people to be surprised every week!”
John Gray will maintain his most popular signature dishes, but will also be adding new concoctions of locally grown produce and fresh caught seafood. The response has already been tremendous. You can still find fresh fish with mango salsa and the Roquefort encrusted pork tenderloin, but will also discover charred tuna served in a lettuce taco with truffled deviled eggs.
The famous John Gray’s Kitchen just south of Cancun in Puerto Morelos, along with John Gray’s Place in Playa Del Carmen, have revamped their menus and moved to a fixed price per meal. There will be a new menu each week and lunches will be $100 pesos per person and dinners (entrée and appetizer) will be $200 pesos per person, no matter what you order.
The creator of American cuisine in the Riviera Maya will maintain his most popular signature dishes, but will also be adding new concoctions of locally grown produce and fresh caught seafood. The response has already been tremendous. You can still find fresh fish with mango salsa and the Roquefort encrusted pork tenderloin, but will also discover charred tuna served in a lettuce taco with truffled deviled eggs. John Gray’s favorite duck is still one of the most sought after dishes, and this week you can find it being roasted whole and served with mashed sweet potatoes and watercress. “I’m looking forward to mixing things up a bit,” said executive chef Gray “I want people to be surprised every week!”
The chef will personally head up the new creations at both restaurants each night. The Kitchen tends to draw an earlier crowd for dinner, while John Gray’s Place down the highway in Playa Del Carmen is open later.
The John Gray Restaurant Group is among the best in the Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen real estate. The Kitchen opened in 2002 while John Gray’s Place opened two years later. Moving across the street in a newly designed location in 2008 the ‘Place’ has received rave reviews and was featured in Conde Nast Traveler as one of their “Hot Tables”. The Den was added as a bar/lounge in Playa Del Carmen in 2009 and in 2010 Chef John Gray was invited to the South Beach Wine and Food Festival representing Mexico.
