Cancun real estate is the site of two new luxury vacation properties, the Iberostar Cancun Resort and the Sandos Cancun Luxury Experience Resort, which have been planned in response to the growing number of travelers visiting this part of Mexico. 

The new Iberostar Cancun property opened in early February with an inauguration ceremony headed by actor Antonio Banderas, who has been the brand ambassador since 2010. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts invested almost $80 million in the purchase and renovation of the Cancun property, which closed its doors last August. The renovations included modern upgrades to the main lobby and swimming pools, as well as the addition of several new restaurants, a theatre and clubs for small children and teenagers.

“The grand opening of the Iberostar Cancun reinforces an increase of activity and travel to Mexico as well as tourism offerings within the region,” stated Gloria Guevara, Mexico’s secretary of tourism. “This event underscores Iberostar’s ongoing commitment and support to Mexico.”

Also of note, the Sandos Cancun Luxury Experience Resort is the third resort for the company in Mexico real estate, but the first in Cancun and is scheduled to re-open in early March. Its 214 rooms have been totally remodeled, and a variety of new restaurants and other amenities have been added to its all-inclusive offerings. 

“We are thrilled to open the Sandos Cancun Luxury Experience Resort, offering a boutique all-inclusive experience unlike anything currently available in Cancun,” shared Jacques De Paep, director of sales and marketing for Sandos.

Both of the new resorts are located on some of the most beautiful white sand beaches that can be found anywhere in the world, and are just a few miles from the Cancun International Airport. In addition, visitors can easily travel to the region’s most popular shopping, dining and nightlife areas from either of these resorts, and travelers will find it easy to set up a trip to view the Mayan ruins located nearby.
