After visitors voted, popular travel website TripAdvisor awarded Mexico’s Xplor Park, which is situated in the heart of Riviera Maya real estate, with its Certificate of Excellence. The award came this June, after the Xplor Park was found to have exceeded travelers’ expectations in both 2011 and 2012. 

This is the first time the destination has received the award, which is “a very important means to measure visitors’ opinions,” according to TripAdvisor. The visitors are asked by the website to give their “clear and precise evaluations” about a variety of popular travel destinations, including whether or not they would recommend the locale to others.

The Xplor Park is the world’s safest underground park, bringing visitors the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of unique adventures, including 14 zip lines in two circuits totaling nearly two and a half miles. The zip lines feature a variety of water landings and hanging bridges at a height of more than 45 meters, which makes it the tallest of its kind in all of Latin America. 

Available activities at the park also include swimming and rafting along the gentle currents of the underground river, amidst a variety of ancient stalactites and stalagmite rock formations. In addition, visitors can travel through the native jungles, overcoming obstacles in complete safety within state of the art amphibious vehicles that are capable of making their way into flooded caverns, crossing hanging bridges and traversing the rough, rocky terrain. 

Considered to be a prestigious award, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is only awarded to attractions that consistently provide an “outstanding quality of services presented to travelers during their vacations.” This makes it one of the most coveted awards in the tourism and travel industry for hotels, parks, restaurants and other destinations.

“At Experiencias Xcaret we actively work to constantly improve the life experiences of those who allow themselves to be blown away by the adventure, nature and magic of Xplor, Xel-Há and Xcaret,” stated the park in a press release. “Every comment in TripAdvisor, as well as the different social networks, is taken very seriously, as the company’s philosophy is that there is always room for improvement and things to do to make their visitors happy.”
