Jeff Fisher
Philadelphia, US
My name is Jeff Fisher and my family and I live in the beautiful and vibrant Riviera Maya. Originally from Philadelphia, my wife and I finished our Master's degrees in 2008 and then decided to move to the Riviera Maya after numerous trips to Tulum. The Riviera Maya is filled with friendly, diverse, and beautiful people from all over the world and we wanted to be part of such a place. It is never a bad thing if you live in a place where people vacation or honeymoon.
Everyone is always happy here and it is contagious and cyclical. This part of Mexico is sunny 300+ days a year and there are not many reasons to stay inside. Â Incorporated in 1974, the new state of Quintana Roo (where the Riviera Maya is located) attracts a constant flow of entrepreneurial minded people who come here to visit or settle more permanently. My family and I spend much of our time actively living; whether we are hanging on the beach in Tulum, kayaking, kiteboarding, swimming with the dogs in the Caribbean, or socializing with friends (or the never ending supply of guest's that visit) in one of Playa del Carmen's award winning restaurants. The Riviera Maya mandates that you get outside, meet people, and become part of a growing, environmentally conscious, and culturally diverse global community. People from all over the world eagerly choose to come from somewhere else to settle here.
